Let’s get into some adorable DIYs that we love.
Yarn & Wood Heart
This yarn on-wood DIY Valentine’s Day heart looks difficult to complete but is actually super easy, and inexpensive, and the finished product looks so high-end! Gather nails, a hammer, your favorite color of yarn, and a piece of wood, and get nailing and wrapping. Start with wrapping the yarn around the outline of each nail. Once that’s complete, zig-zag the yarn in any type of pattern you want. Tie a knot around one of the nails to end it, then cut off the excess. We think the entryway is the perfect place for this cute piece of art.
Fresh Flowers on Paper
We adore these special & very professional-looking fresh flowers on paper; they are so simple and enjoyable to create. You can glue fresh flowers onto blank cards, wrapping paper, or thick paper to create a unique wall art gift. Gather whatever blank slate you’d like to put the flower on, use a thin marker to sketch out a vase, then use a glue gun to glue on whatever fresh flowers you have on hand. You can even add a magnet on the other side of the paper for something your friends can look at on their fridge for the days to come.
Hot Air Balloon Valentine’s
Cards are one of the best parts of Valentine’s Day. It’s a way to show someone that you care for them. These hot air balloon Valentines take cards to the next level and are a great way to show off your DIY skills. Simply cut out 5 paper hearts of the same size and fold them in half. Glue them back to back so they fan out when you unfold them. Then glue the first heart to the card. Use thick stock paper for the basket, and sticks to attach the basket to the balloons. Then have fun designing clouds with stock paper, buttons, string, or whatever else you have on hand to add additional details.
Heart Outline Card
This heart outline card is easy to do but looks unique and special. Start by getting some thick stock paper and folding it into a card. Then cut out a heart shape with the same paper and use folded tape to very lightly tape it to the center of the card. Put watercolor, acrylic, or any other type of paint and use a cut sponge to sponge-paint around the heart. Continue sponging until the paper is covered. You can use a few colors to add some depth. After the paint is completely dry, remove the heart gently. The fun thing about this project is you can use any colors you want, and it’s really fun to do with kids.
Easy DIY Bath Salts
There’s nothing better than the gift of relaxation, and these DIY bath salts will do just the trick, plus they are super easy to create. First, gather unscented Epsom salt and your favorite essential oils. We recommend lavender, peppermint, or bergamot. Pour 2 cups of Epsom salt into a large bowl, add 25 drops of your essential oil, stir well, and then put the homemade bath salts into your favorite jar. That’s it! You can tie a wooden spoon to the jar to make a beautiful presentation. It’s a simple gift your loved one will adore.
We hope these 5 Valentine’s DIYs bring joy and warmth to your home. Join us at Redecor this week for tons of love-filled challenges and we can’t wait to celebrate this special day together. Happy Valentine’s Day, Redecorator!
