A 50’s dream come true
The still-loved Mid-century Modern design style got its name from the time period it stemmed from. You guessed it – the 50s! It was a time when sleek and streamlined interiors, pastel colors, and iconic furniture pieces like the Eames Lounge Chair became synonymous with mid-century modern style.
Here’s an example from the Redecor artists. You can see the calm and sophisticated color palette balanced with the ever-reliable natural wooden tones that were a staple during the mid-century.
Here’s another example that encapsulates the essence of mid-century modern design, featuring clean lines, geometric patterns, and a burst of nostalgic colors. We can’t wait to see all that the 50s have in store for us!
The 60s are calling!
The 1960s was a decade of cultural revolution and vibrant self-expression. In interior design, this translated into harmonious designs, with cozy and warm earthy tones alongside Pop Art, psychedelic and “Mod” influences.
Here’s a teaser from our artists for inspo: That vibrant pillow paired with the deep clay accents absolutely scream retro! Although using wooden walls might be considered archaic these days, our artists used several tones of brown inside the entire picture to change it up! The sunny touches of the upholstery and the sunflowers in the art perfectly add to the ambiance we’re looking for in classical 60s designs.
Take a look at this! Groovy, right? This kaleidoscopic space features vibrant, eye-catching curtains adorned with swirling patterns and bold geometric shapes. The room is brought to life with rays of yellow and brown accents; the pillow complimenting the curtains and wall art. As you can see, this sunny color palette is filled with warmth.
A 70s escape
The 1970s was a decade of free-spirited expression that was reflected in a fusion of diverse styles. Interior design in the 70s embraced earthy tones, organic textures, and a mix of bohemian influences, creating a unique and eclectic aesthetic that celebrated individuality and creativity.
Let’s look at some examples.
Feeling boho yet? The earthy color palette pays homage to a decade that revered nature. The beautiful throw filled with sunflowers goes hand in hand with the pillows on the sofa. The bold choice to use over three different kinds of wood really pays off in a space that screams retro and modern at the same time.
These explorative spaces capture the essence of the era. Notice the natural, earthy vibe combined with vibrant patterns and retro furnishings. Step into a time machine and experiment with all the beauty the 70s has to offer!
